Has the VAT DD payment deadline changed?
Client has DD set up for VAT - I've just logged into my ASA to check something else and can see that the VAT payment for the qtr ended 30th April is showing as overdue (shows as due on 7th June) - and they've added some late payment interest to the total as well. The VAT Return was submitted on time, on 2nd June to be precise, and I always thought DDs were payable on 10th month following.

Unallocated funds on PAYE account
I've got a couple of clients with unallocated funds on their PAYE accounts matched by 'overdue' amounts, which have been sitting there for some months (clients paid late and didn't add the extra references to their payments). I'm hoping that they will clear now that we have reached the year end but has anyone got any experience with this? I really don't want to have to phone HMRC and sit in a queue if I can avoid it! Thanks in advance.
Well that's a first for HMRC!
They suggested using a password on a phone call... I had to phone HMRC this morning with a query over a client's tax - the agent I spoke to said they'd have to check with a colleague and promised to phone me back with the answer later today.

Missing AP - do I need to contact HMRC?
I have a new Ltd Co client with a first set of accounts to prepare. They did not make any sales that first year but did have some costs including fixed asset purchases. Looking at HMRC they don't have an AP for that first year, the first AP online is for the following year, I think the client must have told HMRC they were dormant - I'm wondering if I can just carry everything forward, for HMRC, into that second year (in particular the AIA) or do I need to ask HMRC to set up the previous AP? Thanks

I'd be grateful if someone could clarify this for me. A client had some earnings in the US, some time ago, and used his US earnings to buy some shares (in dollars). They sold the shares last April, and have declared the gains on their US tax return for 31/12/23. For the UK tax return I would normally convert the purchases into sterling, at the date of purchase, and then convert the sales into sterling, at the date of sale, then work out the gains/losses from there.

NEST login
Anyone else having trouble logging into NEST today (as employer/agent)? They've been telling us for ages that they were moving to 2-step verification and the first time it was needed, earlier this month, it worked just fine. But today the email with the passcode simply isn't arriving. I've checked that my emails are getting through to me, which they are, and NEST have the correct email address because it worked the first time. The trouble is, it's only valid for 10 minutes so I am timed out.
Just an observation on filing deadlines
Just an observation really, I'd be interested to hear others' thoughts. I filed my own VAT Return (for the August period) a couple of days ago, a doddle, I keep everything up to date and use decent software. But I've spent the day today (7th) chasing a couple of recalcitrant clients to finally - FINALLY - get back to me on queries I had on some transactions going into their own July VAT Returns. Yes they use software but they don't code everything up properly.

Hi White Rose, Maybe you just need to listen to your body and not go with a larger, weightier bag. For reference, I have 3 cervical disc bulges, cervical stenosis due to osteophytes in addition to lumbar issues. The pain has gotten bad, so I've had to switch to smaller bags like the Alma bb and Favorite MM. I find using the Favorite Mm with the chain strap and tucked under my armpit has been the most comfortable and doesn't aggrivate the issues mentioned above.

Ladies, Hi! As many of you know that I'm visiting different LV threads. I'm having great difficulty in choosing a bag that is secure (Zippered top), spacious enough for an everyday bag and most important have COMFORTABLE STRAP! I had purchased Totally MM in Mono two years back but had to sell it immediately as it was in exchange for Bastille. The Totally MM straps dug into my shoulders so bad that it resulted in reoccurance of my "slip-disc" pain.
