Will Blodgett is a lifelong entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of Tredway, an affordable and mixed-income real estate developer focused on building and preserving high-quality and high-opportunity housing across America.
Prior to founding Tredway, Will was a founding partner at the multifamily development firm Fairstead. Over the course of his career, he has led the acquisition and development of more than 25,000 units and $6 billion in real estate across the United States. Prior to founding Fairstead, Will managed the acquisition, financing, and development of over 4,500 units for The Related Companies’ Affordable Housing Group and served as a Special Advisor to the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).
Using data, empathy, and technology, Will focuses on building attainable housing and strengthening communities while achieving solid, risk-adjusted returns for stakeholders. His passion for
inspiring change and readily championing the underdog was forged while growing up in Chicago as a kid with a stutter who was often the target of bullying.
Will holds a BA from Yale and an MBA from MIT. He remains involved in MIT’s renowned Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, serving as a panelist and featured speaker.
As an advocate for the affordable housing industry, Will sits on the board of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition and is a Trustee of the Citizens Budget Commission. He is also affiliated with a number of nonprofit organizations and serves on the boards of the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), the American Institute for Stuttering (AIS), and New Heights Youth, a sports-based youth development program.
Will has secured his place among the visionaries forging a path forward to create the next era of real estate in America. He appears on the Commercial Observer's 2024 Power 100 list and was named "Innovator of the Year" by the same publication in 2020. Will has also been recognized as one of the most powerful people in real estate by Crain's New York Business and City & State.
