Catblazer Chronicles, June ‘21

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Events and Logs on Ethereum
A guide to getting the right information from events by scraping the blockchain Special thanks to Alchemy for reviewing the article, and to Richard Moore (Ricmoo) for reviewing some of the code. All images, including the cover image, were created and made ready for print by Linum Labs’ own Michal Shachman. As part of a recent project, Linum Labs was contracted to build an API which could be used to scrape relevant data from a suite of deployed contracts.
Persistent Shoreline Shape Induced From Offshore Geologic Framework: Effects of Shoreface Connected Ridges
Mechanisms relating offshore geologic framework to shoreline evolution are determined through geologic investigations, oceanographic deployments and numerical modeling. Analysis of shoreline positions from the past 50 years along Fire Island, New York, a 50 km long barrier island, demonstrates a persistent undulating shape along the western half of the island.
Change in morphology and modern sediment thickness on the inner continental shelf offshore of Fire Island, New York between 2011 and 2014: Analysis of hurricane impact

Inner-shelf ocean dynamics and seafloor morphologic changes during Hurricane Sandy
Inner-shelf ocean dynamics and seafloor morphologic changes during Hurricane Sandy Continental Shelf Research By: John C. Warner, William C. Schwab, Jeffrey List, Ilgar Safak, Maria Liste, and Wayne E. Baldwin Links Abstract Hurricane Sandy was one of the most destructive hurricanes in US history, making landfall on the New Jersey coast on Oct 30, 2012. Storm impacts included several barrier island breaches, massive coastal erosion, and flooding.
Decoupling processes and scales of shoreline morphodynamics
Behavior of coastal systems on time scales ranging from single storm events to years and decades is controlled by both small-scale sediment transport processes and large-scale geologic, oceanographic, and morphologic processes. Improved understanding of coastal behavior at multiple time scales is required for refining models that predict potential erosion hazards and for coastal management planning and decision-making.
