William Alvarez is a highly skilled industrial engineer with more than two decades of experience in managing supply, demand, inventory, and logistics operations. His extensive background in warehousing, logistics, supply chain management, and finance is complemented by his strong analytical abilities. He is known for his collaborative approach and his proficiency in problem-solving, negotiation, creativity, and decision-making, which have made him an invaluable asset in various roles throughout his career.

Currently, Alvarez works on a contract basis as an Inventory Control Specialist at JDE Peet's, the leading global coffee and tea company. In this role, he oversees the management of lot codes and expiration dates between Peet's third-party logistics providers and internal systems. He also manually processes orders, prioritizing them according to the company's operational needs. He also performs ad-hoc analyses to identify the root causes of fulfillment failures, communicating these findings to both internal and external business partners.

Besides his primary profession, he invests in real estate, focusing on property renovations and sales.

Before he engaged with Peet's, Alvarez was the Inventory Rx Manager at CVS Pharmacy, Inc., in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Over his three-year stint, he was responsible for creating a new data and reporting infrastructure using Tableau/BI and SQL. This system provided real-time insights into products, marketing funnels, and business KPIs, and he developed operations, inventory, and planning processes that minimized manual steps and maximized accuracy.

Moreover, he produced daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports from both existing and newly created tables within the SQL Oracle database. He played a vital role in the migration to the "Snowflake Interface," which expanded the analytical capabilities available to the inventory and operations team at CVS.

He also conducted weekly training sessions to enhance the inventory planning team's SQL skills. He led S&OP forecast consensus meetings that coordinated marketing, operations, and supply planning forecasts with risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

During his tenure at CVS, Alvarez developed effective forecasting models that anticipated short—and long-term market demands. He also managed inventory replenishment and allocation processes across all of CVS's network stores involved in COVID-19 testing. He also served as the primary liaison between vendors and CVS's finance and regional leadership teams, producing monthly sales forecasts and recommending business strategies that benefited both the company and its partners.

Alvarez's career also included roles at Cardinal Health as a Global Demand/Supply Planner and at Hasbro as a Global Planner, Supply Chain, and operations. His early American career started at Ryder System as a Customer Logistics Manager after he moved to the United States from Venezuela.

He graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Jose Maria Vargas University and earned a Master of Liberal Arts in Finance from Harvard Extension School. He holds a Forecast Business Analytics Certification from the Wharton School of Business and a Master Black Belt Six Sigma certification from Villanova University.

Fluent in English, Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese, Alvarez enjoys playing the guitar, running, and exercising. He once worked as a fashion model and participated in Mr. Venezuela.
