William Pesek is an award-winning Tokyo-based columnist writing on economics, politics and business for Nikkei Asian Review, Politico, Reuters, Australian Financial Review, SCMP, Forbes, Asia Times, Barron's, Quartz, Straits Times, Chosun Biz and others. He was executive editor for Barron’s Asia and Asia columnist for Bloomberg. He wrote the 2014 book "Japanization: What the World Can Learn from Japan's Lost Decades." Awards include the 2018 prize for excellence in opinion writing by Society of Publishers in Asia.
