William Smith

I am an editorial leader with a background in visual art, design, architecture, and cinema. I am currently Editorial Director at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. In 2021, I moved to Hong Kong to join the senior leadership team of M+, Asia's first global museum of contemporary visual culture. I oversee the museum's digital and print publications, social media, and in-gallery digital content. I was previously chief editor of Art in America magazine and a senior editor of Triple Canopy. I have contributed to exhibition catalogues published by the New Museum, the Guggenheim, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Fabric Workshop and Museum, and M+.
