Arrhythmias and heart failure: what causes Ebstein's anomaly
Depending on the severity of the malformation, affected patients may suffer from cardiac arrhythmias, due to the presence of abnormal conduction pathways symptoms of right congestive heart failure such as: enlarged liver, fatigue, dilated right atrium; cyanosis: as it is often associated with interatrial defect, the higher pressure due to tricuspid insufficiency causes oxygen-poor blood to flow from the right to the left side of the heart.
Congenital or acquired malformations: pes cavus
The opposite situation is flat foot, a problem characterized by the flattened plantar vault and valgus-pronation of the heel. Flat feet, common between 10 months and 3-4 years and destined to resolve spontaneously generally within 6-7 years, when it persists can favor the development of problems at the level of the ankles and knees. Similarly, pes cavus can create a series of postural problems that can cause pain, as the foot does not rest on the ground as it should.
Acute and chronic lithiasic and alitiasic cholecystitis
The calculus, obstructing the outflow of bile as well as giving biliary colic, inflames the gallbladder cholecystitis lithiasica. Cholecystitis can also be alitiasic, i.e. not caused by gallbladder stones. Cholecystitis can also be divided into acute or chronic. Causes of cholecystitis The most common cause that blocks the flow of bile is gallstones, but biliary dyskinesia can also cause cholecystitis.
Cerebral palsy: what it is and what causes it

Appendicitis is most frequently caused by calcification of the faeces.
Semeiotics of heart failure: the Valsalva Manoeuvre
The Valsalva manoeuvre consists of a relatively deep inhalation followed by a forced exhalation with the glottis closed lasting approximately 10 seconds. The ‘glottis’ is the upper segment of the larynx at the vocal cords, located below the epiglottis and above the cricoid cartilage.
Semeiotics of the heart: cardiac auscultation foci
Auscultation of the heart: the aortic foci It is present in the 2nd right intercostal space on the marginal-sternal or parasternal line (it is important to auscultate this foci in the elderly subject because atherosclerotic pathology can easily affect this foci, giving rise to a murmur, while in an elderly hypertensive patient in this foci we can hear a fluttering tone, a first accentuated tone) Cardiac auscultation: the pulmonary foci It is located on the left II intercostal space on the...
Pain points of the liver, gallbladder, stomach and pancreas
Meeting between the 10th rib and the outer margin of the rectus abdominis muscle. It is painful in acute cholecystitis already on superficial palpation, in biliary lithiasis, acute cholecystitis and cholecystic dyskinesias. Located immediately below the xiphoid process. Located at the junction of the upper third with the two lower thirds of the xiphoid line; painful in ulceration of the cardia or fundus.
Heart failure: what is atrial flow regulator?
Heart failure, or cardiac insufficiency, is a syndrome characterised by a chronic course associated with mortality. Approximately 30 million people worldwide suffer from it; and factors such as an ageing population, obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure increase the prevalence of this pathological condition.
Congenital heart disease: coarctation of the aorta
The aorta is the largest and most important artery in the human body, it originates in the left ventricle of the heart and is made up of multiple ramifications; through these ramifications every single part of the body will be supplied with oxygenated blood. It can be divided into two large sections; thoracic aorta, which in turn can be divided into the ascending aorta, aortic arch and descending aorta, and the abdominal aorta. Men are most affected.

In this scenario, the role of the firefighters assumes crucial importance.
Positive or negative Blumberg's sign: what it is
It occurs when the patient experiences a “rebound pain” on palpation of the abdomen.
The floods that have most affected the world
How threatening can an expanse of water be? It depends, of course, on the context, but certainly when we are talking about rivers coming out of their banks and numerous landslides and mudslides are caused by these disasters, there is little to feel safe about. Cloudbursts can be a real danger if not considered as such in time, and throughout the years we have collected some terrible examples of these threats globally.
Congenital heart defects: Eisenmenger's syndrome
This will result in abnormal circulation between the heart and lung and pulmonary hypertension. If the pressure in the arteries is excessively high, the blood will reverse its flow and oxygen-depleted blood will circulate in the body. It may also lead to sudden death, especially in pregnant women. Life expectancy following diagnosis can range from around 20 to 60 years. The highest mortality rate occurs in pregnant women, leading to their hospitalisation as early as the 20th week.

Eyelid ptosis: an overview of the drooping eyelid
Those who suffer from it speak of ‘drooping eyelid’, as the eye seems to close: the pupil is obscured, sometimes only partially, sometimes totally, and the only way to solve the problem (not only aesthetically) is surgery. Typical of ageing, eyelid ptosis can also affect children. And it can have numerous causes. What is eyelid ptosis? Eyelid ptosis is the partial or total drooping of the lower or upper eyelid. It may be unilateral and thus affect only one eye, or bilateral and affect both.
