NVIDIA adds system-level framerate cap, more RTX support in new GeForce drivers
Released just in time for the Consumer Electronics Show, NVIDIA has revealed a Game Ready Driver with a few more bells and whistles than normal. In addition to a new way to show off the post-processing features of NVIDIA Freestyle and some better image sharpening for VR titles, the company revealed a system-level framerate lock that applies to all your 3D games.
The Wolfenstein Youngblood Switch version is the best and worst way to play it
Wolfenstein Youngblood is a repetitive, unrefined shooter with lackluster progression and bullet-spongey enemies. On the Nintendo Switch, it’s ugly as hell, and the frame rate drops often. And yet, there’s still bits of fun to be had in Bethesda’s co-op Wolfenstein spin-off. Playing through the game with my brother, I’m reminded of grinding for loot in Destiny 2, coordinating stealth attacks in Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and mowing down Flood attackers in Halo 3.

Classic FPS that need the Wolfenstein treatment
Ever since purchasing the legendary studio, Bethesda’s handling of id Software has been interesting. Each franchise the studio created, from the moneymakers to the flops, got some sort of redux for a modern audience. From Doom‘s amazing adaption of Hell to Quake‘s fun but flawed stab at rocket arena, it’s a great example of a company recognizing what they have and making it relevant again. Heck, it’s a miracle that that Wolfenstein would return after Raven’s cult classic failed to move copies.

B.J. Blazkowicz is the best Nazi killer video games have ever seen, striking fear in every digital Hitler-loving asshole in the world. But the resilient SS-slaying meat tank can’t make Nazis shake in their jackboots if he’s gone missing. WOLFENSTEIN YOUNGBLOOD is a new cooperative-focused, half-sequel that keeps the series in the family name but passes it down to his twin daughters, Sophia and Jessica.
Wolfenstein Youngblood German release will not be censored
In the past, games with any sort of Nazi imagery had to be altered before they could be released in Germany. However, this will not be the case with the next Wolfenstein game. Bethesda has confirmed that the Wolfenstein Youngblood German release will not be altered in that country. In a statement on its forums, Bethesda has confirmed that German players would be able to purchase the same unaltered version of Wolfenstein Youngblood that would be coming to the rest of the world.
