Doch kurz vor der Ankunft in der Klinik war das Baby schon da. Danach wurden Mutter und Kind dem Klinikpersonal übergeben.

Beim Einschalten eines IGBTs ist der dvCE/dt-Wert bei niedrigen Temperaturen und geringen Strömen normalerweise höher. Das bedeutet, dass der Wert des Gate-Widerstands zu erhöhen ist, wenn der dvCE/dt-Wert begrenzt werden soll. Derartige Begrenzungen von dvCE/dt sind insbesondere bei Motorantrieben üblich, bei denen der Motorstrom auch Nulldurchgänge aufweist.

It is difficult to optimize the switching performance of IGBTs with only one fixed value for the gate resistor. This is especially true if the level of dv/dt during switching needs to be limited, as is the case for typical motor drives and applications, where conducted EMI levels need to be controlled. The use of two-level slew-rate control gate driver ICs can solve this dilemma and, in addition, increase thermal margins in drive applications.

Gate drive design engineers are often forced to use larger turn-on resistors than the IGBT ́s datasheet proposes in order to slow down the maximum dvCE/dt during the current commutation. Infineon Technologies proposes the new gate driver IC 1EDS20I12SV, which controls a relatively constant dvCE/dt. A comparison of two gate driver boards using 1EDS20I12SV and a conventional gate driver IC, which are operated with the same power module, shows the advantages of the new control method.
