Concurrently improving fire safety and processability of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer by expandable graphite and polyphosphoric acid
Abstract Ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) was modified by expandable graphite (EG) and polyphosphoric acid (PPA) in melt state and the obtained EVA/EG/PPA composite was studied regarding its fire behavior, thermal endurance, water resistivity, processability, and mechanical property.
Flame retardancy of polypropylene filled with expandable graphite and magnesium hydroxide: The impact of particle size of expandable graphite and its mechanism
RESEARCH ARTICLE Xiaochen Dong and Xuefan Yang contributed equally to this study. Abstract Polypropylene (PP) was modified by expandable graphite (EG) and magnesium hydroxide (MH) to enhance its flame retardancy. The impact of EG particle size on fire behavior of PP/MH/EG ternary composite was studied in detail. The results reveal that EG synergizes markedly with MH in flame-retarding PP.
Anti-Vascular Nano Agents: A Promising Approach for Cancer Treatmen
Anti-Vascular Nano Agents: A Promising Approach for Cancer Treatmen Anti-vascular agents (AVAs) are a class of promising therapeutic agents with tumor vasculature targeting properties, which can be divided into two types: anti-angiogenic agents (AAAs, inhibit angiogenesis factor) and vascular disrupting agents (VDAs, disrupt established tumor vasculatures). AVAs exhibit enhanced anti-cancer effect by cutting off the oxygen and nutrition supplement channels of tumors.
Anthracene functionalized BODIPY derivative with singlet oxygen storage ability for photothermal and continuous photodynamic synergistic therapy
Anthracene functionalized BODIPY derivative with singlet oxygen storage ability for photothermal and continuous photodynamic synergistic therapy Singlet oxygen (1O2) generated from the photosensitized process within tumor tissues during photodynamic therapy (PDT) is self-limiting. Fractional delivery of light tends to be a better method for PDT. Herein, BDPIA with a high 1O2 quantum yield (QY) of 70% has an additional anthracene module for capturing 1O2, which would be useful in PDT.
