Abstract Background and objectives: Physical Exercise (PE) is associated with multiple aspects of adolescent psychological and cognitive functioning. Cognitive Flexibility (CF) and Negative attention bias (NAB) may help explain the association between PE and Social Media Addiction (SMA), yet their joint indirect roles remain insufficiently examined. This study tested a cross-sectional serial indirect-effects model linking PE, CF, NAB, and SMA among Chinese adolescents.

Associations between parental marital conflict and short-video addiction among Chinese adolescents: a cross-sectional chain mediation analysis of experiential avoidance and anxiety

Abstract This cross-sectional study examined the association between parental marital conflict and short-video addiction among adolescents and assessed indirect associations involving experiential avoidance and anxiety. The Children’s Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale, Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-2 Scale, and Short-Video Addiction Scale were administered to 4,065 adolescents from six schools across five provinces in China.

Abstract Addressing and preventing short video addiction among adolescents has become an important public health concern. This study examined the association between depression and short video addiction, as well as the moderating roles of physical activity and gender. A total of 4,020 adolescents (mean age = 14.72 ± 1.43 years; 49.38% boys and 50.62% girls) were recruited using convenience sampling.
