Impact of maternal education levels and occupation status and their interaction effect on adverse maternal–perinatal outcomes among women with singleton and twin gestations in Hubei, China
Abstract The impact of maternal education and occupation on adverse maternal–perinatal outcomes is rarely known in China. A tertiary hospital-based retrospective cohort study was conducted in Hubei, China, between 2011 and 2019 to examine the associations of maternal education level, occupational status, and their interaction effect with adverse maternal–perinatal outcomes.
Comparison of multi-track mini single arm external fixation and plate internal fixation in the treatment of missed Monteggia fracture in children
Abstract Objective: To analyze the effect of multi-track mini single arm external fixation and plate internal fixation in the treatment of missed Monteggia fracture in children. Methods: Retrospectively analyzed the data of 22 children with missed Monteggia fracture admitted to the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from April 2018 to October 2024. There were 14 males, 8 females, 5 on the left side, and 17 on the right side. Age (5.3 ± 1.
IL-1β alleviates suppressive potential of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in macrophage M1 polarization via autophagy mediated degradation of SPP1
Abstract The immunomodulatory properties of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are often influenced by inflammatory microenvironment. However, the specific effects of IL-1β on immunomodulatory role of bone marrow derived MSCs (BMSCs) remain need to be understood. In this study, the role of autophagy induced by IL-1β contributes to immunoregulatory effect of BMSCs on macrophage polarization was investigated.
Endothelial cell-secreted SPARC suppresses astrocytic CD59 expression and promotes astrocytopathy in a mouse model of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders
|
Abstract CD59 is an endogenous complement inhibitor that restricts membrane attack complex formation, protecting cells from complement-dependent cytotoxicity. Dysfunctional CD59 leads to uncontrolled complement activation and contributes to the pathogenesis of various diseases, including neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), a rare inflammatory autoimmune disorder specifically targeting astrocytes.

Mixed matrix membranes based on MIL-100(Cr) for removal of N2 from CH4
Two series of mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) have been synthesized via in situ UV polymerization for the removal of N from CH . MIL-100(Cr) particles activated at different temperatures were used as fillers.

Radar Interferometry for Urban Infrastructure Stability Monitoring: From Techniques to Applications
4. Recent Advances and Applications This section will introduce the major advances and applications of the spaceborne InSAR- and GBRI-based techniques over the recent decade for monitoring stability conditions of urban infrastructures.
Correction of Misalignment Errors in the Integrated GNSS and Accelerometer System for Structural Displacement Monitoring
Structural health monitoring (SHM) systems are widely deployed to monitor the dynamic behaviors of large civil infrastructures such as bridges and tall buildings. Global Navigation Satellite System- (GNSS-) based technologies are often a key component in such an SHM system considering the unique capability of GNSS in determining real-time displacements. GNSS often integrates with an accelerometer to achieve complementary advantages.
Mechanism for the reactivation of the peroxidase activity of human cyclooxygenases: investigation using phenol as a reducing cosubstrate
Abstract It has been known for many years that the peroxidase activity of cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 (COX-1 and COX-2) can be reactivated in vitro by the presence of phenol, which serves as a reducing compound, but the underlying mechanism is still poorly understood. In the present study, we use phenol as a model compound to investigate the mechanism by which the peroxidase activity of human COXs is reactivated after each catalytic cycle.
Monasone Naphthoquinone Biosynthesis and Resistance in Monascus Fungi
Research Article | Molecular Biology and Physiology Mu Li, Lijing Kang, Xiaoli Ding, Jiao Liu, Qingpei Liu, Yanchun Shao, István Molnár, Fusheng Chen B. Gillian Turgeon, Editor DOI: 10.1128/mBio.02676-19 ABSTRACT Despite the important biological activities of natural product naphthoquinones, the biosynthetic pathways of and resistance mechanisms against such compounds remain poorly understood in fungi.
Intrinsic alterations in hydrogen desorption of Mg2NiH4 by solid dissolution of titanium
Achieving rapid hydrogen desorption at low temperature is one of the main challenges in Mg-based alloys for hydrogen storage. Here, we report that the dehydrogenation process of Mg2NiH4 can be intrinsically improved using solid dissolution of titanium into its lattices.
Hydrogen-Induced Magnesium−Zirconium Interfacial Coupling: Enabling Fast Hydrogen Sorption at Lower Temperatures
The implementation of magnesium (Mg) as a hydrogen-storage medium has long been restricted because of its rather sluggish hydrogen sorption at high temperatures. Here, we report a method for using hydrogen-induced Mg?Zr interfacial coupling to manipulate the migration of hydrogen atoms and thus tune their uptake and release in a micrometer-sized Mg-rich composite.
Self-Printing on Graphitic Nanosheets with Metal Borohydride Nanodots for Hydrogen Storage
A typical MFSP preparation is illustrated in Fig. 1. Similar to 3D printing, the raw materials were introduced directly and composites with the desired and reproducible nanostructures were subsequently produced. As an example, commercial LiBH , NaCl and graphite were used as starting materials without purification. Mechanically milling the LiBH and NaCl mixture in a 1:1 molar ratio (Route I) resulted in the formation of NaBH nanocrystals (NCs) via a metathesis reaction according to Eq. (1) (Fig. 1a).
