1 Introduction Ethylene oxide (EO) is a pivotal chemical intermediate extensively used in the manufacturing of essential downstream products such as ethylene glycol [1-3], surfactants [4], and polyesters [5]. Its global market demand continues to grow steadily [6]. Currently, industrial-scale EO production predominantly relies on the thermocatalytic direct oxidation process, which utilizes silver-based catalysts and operates at elevated temperatures (200°C–300°C) and high pressures [7].
