Abstract Approaches that promote ferroptosis have emerged as promising therapeutic strategies for chemotherapy-resistant cancers; however, the mechanisms regulating ferroptosis during acquired therapeutic resistance remain incompletely understood. Using RNA sequencing, we identified that Nuclear Factor Erythroid-2 Related Factor 1 (NFE2L1) is upregulated in cisplatin-resistant ovarian cancer (OC) cells and patient tissues, as well as in ferroptosis-resistant models.
Abstract Dissemination of ovarian cancer (OvCa) cells can lead to inoperable metastatic lesions in the bowel and omentum, which have a poor prognosis despite surgical and chemotherapeutical options. A better understanding of the mechanisms underlying metastasis is urgently needed. In this study, bioinformatics analyses revealed that UBE2E2, a less-studied ubiquitin (Ub)-conjugating enzyme (E2), was upregulated in OvCa and was associated with poor prognosis.
