Xaquín G.V.
Xaquín G.V.’s Biography
I'm the Senior Editor for Interactives at National Geographic where I produce and coordinate data visualizations and multimedia narratives.
I've worked at Newsweek and The New York Times—where I was part of the team that created Snowfall and Jockey among other longform multimedia articles.
Before I moved to New York, I headed the Interactive Graphics Desk at elmundo.es, one of the largest news site in Spanish, and blurred the lines between interactive graphics and multimedia.
I blog over at xocas.com, mostly about ethics in visual storytelling, data and multimedia narratives. I have been awarded at the Society for News Design, Malofiej and Online News Association and nominated at the Emmys—four times. My wife says I'm a mean cook—my son Roi doesn’t know yet.
(Oh, also, Xaquín is pronounced /shah-KEEN/)
