Research Article Yan Kong, Key Laboratory for Green Chemical Technology of Ministry of Education, School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University, Tianjin, 300072 China Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemical Science and Engineering (Tianjin), Tianjin, 300072 China These authors contributed equally to this work.
Predisposed Intrinsic and Extrinsic Proton Conduction in Robust Covalent Organic Frameworks for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Application
Research Article Zhenjie Zhang Corresponding Author E-mail address: zhangzhenjie@nankai.edu.cn Nankai University, Chemistry, Weijin Road 94#, 300071 Tianjin, CHINA Search for more papers by this author PDF PDF Share Abstract Developing new materials to fabricate proton exchange membranes (PEMs) for fuel cells is of great significance. Herein, a series of highly crystalline, porous and stable new covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been developed by a stepwise synthesis strategy.
Flexible, Transparent Ion-conducting Membranes from Two-dimensional Nanoclays of Intrinsic Conductivity
Flexible, Transparent Ion-conducting Membranes from Two-dimensional Nanoclays of Intrinsic Conductivity The recent boom in human-machine interaction has triggered a significant demand for flexible and transparent ionotronics. The state-of-the-art ion conductors are built by embedding electrolytes in a transparent gel polymer to form an ion-conducting composite, named ion conductive hydrogels or ionogels.
Phosphorylated Graphene Monolith with High Mixed Proton/Electron Conductivity
Mixed ionic-electronic conductor (MIEC) plays a crucial role in electrochemistry technologies relevant to energy conversion and storage. The exisiting composite materials often suffered from poor mixed conductive performance due to the distinct phase boundaries and random distributions of the transport channels.
A highly conductive and robust anion conductor obtained via synergistic manipulation in intra- and inter-laminate of layered double hydroxide nanosheets
Layered double hydroxides (LDH), bearing trivalent cationic charge centers and hydroxyl slabs, hold great promise for use in efficient solid-state ion conductors. In this study, a composite membrane with ion-conducting 2D channels was prepared based on exfoliated LDH nanosheets and quaternized polyvinyl alcohol via a filtration process. The LDH laminates, which were formed by the stacking of exfoliated LDH nanosheets, primarily afforded the conductive performance of the membranes.
Channel-facilitated molecule and ion transport across polymer composite membranes
Biological membranes possess hierarchical channels and thus exhibit ultrahigh permselectivity for molecules and ions. Intrigued by the delicate structure and transport mechanisms in biochannels, polymer composite membranes with selective transport channels are successfully fabricated for diverse energy- and environment-related applications.
