Formulation optimization, flavor formation, and quality characteristics of a seasoning paste containing a Maillard-derived flavor base
Abstract Introduction: This study aimed to develop and characterize a compound seasoning paste containing a Maillard-derived flavor base prepared from quinoa hydrolysate and bovine bone collagen peptides. Methods: The flavor base was prepared through the Maillard reaction and subsequently incorporated with beef tallow and other auxiliary ingredients. Using sensory score as the evaluation index, the formulation was optimized through single-factor experiments and an optimal mixture design.

Frontiers | Beyond patient education: fall prevention knowledge, health literacy, and implementation gaps in Chinese hospitals—a patient-caregiver study
Abstract Background: Falls among hospitalized older adults represent a critical patient safety concern, yet comprehensive assessments of fall prevention knowledge, attitudes, behaviors (KAB), education quality, and health literacy in Chinese hospital settings remain scarce. This study examined these domains and their relationships with fall outcomes. Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled patient-caregiver dyads at a tertiary hospital in China between February 2023 and October 2025.
Synthesis, characterization, and iron supplementation effects of egg yolk phosphopeptide‐ferrous chelate
BACKGROUND Iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) persists as a global public health burden, urging the development of high-efficacy iron supplements with improved bioavailability and stability. Egg yolk phosphopeptides (EYPPs) possess excellent metal-chelating potential due to their abundant functional groups, making them ideal carriers for iron fortification.
Frontiers | Factors influencing caregiver burden during perioperative care for children with pediatric central nervous system tumors: an analysis of multidimensional burden and associated determinants
1 Introduction Data indicate (1) that the incidence of children's cancer is increasing annually worldwide; 30,000–40,000 new cases of childhood cancer are diagnosed in China each year, among which central nervous system (CNS) cancer is the second most common type. Children with cancer require family members to provide caregiving assistance throughout their illness, supporting both their lifestyle and medical needs.
L‐Alpha‐Glycerylphosphorylcholine (L‐α‐GPC): A Comprehensive Review of Its Preparation Techniques and Versatile Biological Effects
1 Introduction L-alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine (L-α-GPC) is the full name of glycerylphosphorylcholine (GPC), also called choline alfoscerate. Since the L configuration of GPC is widely found in nature and the D configuration is almost nonexistent, L-α-GPC is often referred to as GPC. GPC is regarded as a widely used choline source with high choline content (41% by weight) and the ability to cross the blood–brain barrier.
Extracting True Virus SERS Spectra and Augmenting Data for Improved Virus Classification and Quantification
Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) emerges as a cutting-edge technology poised to revolutionize chemical and biological detection and medical diagnostics, owing to its high sensitivity, molecular fingerprint spectrum, ease of operation, and point-of-care compatibility. (1) However, in many biological detections, the true spectrum of a target analyte is buried in interference spectra of the buffer, medium, or background.
Multiplex Detection and Quantification of Virus Co-Infections Using Label-free Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy and Deep Learning Algorithms
Virus coinfections, where an individual is simultaneously infected by two or more pathogens, can significantly increase the severity of illnesses, complicate treatment, and lead to worse health outcomes. For example, coinfections with multiple respiratory viruses can lead to severe acute respiratory infections (SARI). During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was found that SARS-CoV-2 infection sometime occurred with influenza, RSV, or adenoviruses coinfections.
