Trends and age-period-cohort analysis of bacteriologically confirmed pulmonary tuberculosis: a population-based study in Hunan Province, China, 2009–2023
Abstract Background: Trends in the incidence of bacteriologically confirmed pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB), a primary source of transmission, are important for targeted prevention and control. Hunan Province is a high-PTB-burden region in China. However, conventional trend analyses cannot separate the independent effects of age, period, and birth cohort, and this question has not been specifically examined in Hunan Province.
The trajectory of high sensitivity C-reactive protein is associated with incident diabetes in Chinese adults
Abstract Background We performed a cohort study to evaluate the association between the CRP trajectory and incident diabetes in Chinese adults. Methods Included were 6439 adults (4111 men and 2249 women; aged 46.6 ± 11.9 years). The concentration of high sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP) was measured in 2013 (baseline), 2014, and 2015. The hs-CRP trajectory was identified based the above three measurements by latent mixture modeling.

Nutrition & Metabolism201916:35 https://doi.org/10.1186/s12986-019-0357-4 © The Author(s). 2019 Received: 15 January 2019 Accepted: 1 May 2019 Published: 27 May 2019 Abstract Background We evaluated the association between parental factors (overweight, history of hypertension, and education level) and children’s blood pressure status. Further, we evaluated to what extent the potential association could be interpreted by children’s adiposity indices.
Snack cost and percentage of body fat in Chinese children and adolescents: a longitudinal study
Only a few studies examined the relationship between snack cost and change in the percentage of body fat in children. We thus conducted a longitudinal study to investigate whether high snack cost is associated with fast increase in the percentage of body fat in Chinese children. The study included 2368 children (1126 girls and 1242 boys, aged 6–14 years). Percentage of body fat was repeatedly assessed by bioelectrical impedance analysis in 2014 (baseline), 2015 and 2016.
