SCOOP: Trump White House Hit With Cease-and-Desist Over Unauthorized Use of Song in Taxpayer-Funded Ad
The singer whose voice repeats “Love me” in a taxpayer-funded ad glorifying President Donald Trump is threatening legal action against the Trump administration and demanding to know how much public money it spent airing the spot. I obtained a copy of the letter, in which attorneys for JMSN have demanded that White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and the Trump administration immediately cease using JMSN’s song “Love Me” in the advertisement.
Taxpayers Are Paying for a Trump Ad That Looks Like a Campaign Commercial
I first reported on this last night when I was watching Fox News and saw this ad. I posted about it on my various social media channels, but it occurred to me that some of you are working to reduce your social media time, so I also wanted to post about it here. The White House aired this video as an ad during commercial breaks on Fox News. It looks and sounds like a political spot and includes a disclaimer stating that it is paid for by the U.S. government.
BREAKING: Dolly Parton has died
We have lost an American treasure. Dolly Parton, the Queen of country music and one of the greatest songwriters of the past century, a philanthropist who never forgot where she came from, has died. She was 80 years old, and the news was announced by her family in a video, which I have embedded below. This is going to be a tough one for me personally.
BREAKING: Scientology Leader David Miscavige Dealt Major Blow in Leah Remini Lawsuit
A California appeals court has dealt a major blow to Scientology leader David Miscavige in Leah Remini’s lawsuit, clearing the way for Remini to seek discovery from Miscavige and his close aides, including depositions. For many years, Scientology attorneys have gone to great lengths to avoid having Miscavige personally exposed in litigation, and they have settled claims, such as that of former top official Debbie Cook, to prevent Miscavige from facing such legal vulnerabilities.
BREAKING: Lindsey Graham Has Died, His Office Announces
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has died, his U.S. Senate office announced moments ago. A statement released by his office said: “On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness. Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period.” Graham was 71 years old. This is a developing story. Check back for updates. For those of you who don’t know, I host Ask Me Anythings in my Instagram Stories several times a week. I get asked about a wide variety of topics by women and men, and a man recently asked me the question below about his wife, who is going through perimenopause. I normally respond to questions with one or two Instagram stories, but this man’s Instagram DMs annoyed me so I ended up responding in a series of 14 stories.

Yesterday, I woke up to the devastating news that Happy the Elephant was euthanized by the Bronx Zoo. She was 55 years old and lived almost her entire life in a state of misery. Seven years ago, thanks to the platform many of you have given me, I was able to bring international attention to Happy’s plight via this thread. With your help, I continued to fight for Happy for years.

Omer Shem Tov, an Israeli abducted on October 7 and held hostage by Hamas for over 500 days, spoke at UCLA early this month about his experience, and it has erupted in controversy. UCLA’s student government slammed the decision to invite Omer to speak, saying that UCLA was engaging in “selective platforming,” that having Omer speak legitimizes and normalizes atrocities, and that it contributes to a campus climate that harms Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim students.

The Israeli Defense Forces say they have killed Ali Larijani, the de facto leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, long one of the most powerful men in the regime, and Gholamreza Soleimani, the head of the Basij, the infamous paramilitary force that the regime uses to suppress protests and control civilians.
Yashar Ali | The Reset
For the last few years, I have repeatedly heard a phrase uttered by politicians, activists, and commentators that has irritated me. “The rise in antisemitism.” Calling what is aggressively permeating American society and popular and political culture a “rise in antisemitism” vastly understates the problem because it makes the phenomenon sound like a temporary increase in incidents or statistics. What we are actually dealing with is something far more pervasive than a statistical uptick.
On Jew Hatred and Trolls
I posted the text below on my social media channels after getting annoyed by trolls who always respond to my posts about the explosion in Jew hatred, and my analysis and reporting on extremism and radicalization. Several followers asked me to share it here so they could send it to those who aren’t active on social media. I have made a few edits to make it more appropriate for Substack, but otherwise it’s basically the same text.
Khamenei Is Dead, but Iran Is Not Yet Free
Ali Khamenei is dead, what an incredible day for Iranians. But Iran is not yet free. Khamenei not only presided over the murder, torture, and imprisonment of Iranians; he oversaw the systematic destruction of Iran, a nation filled with people who embody what I believe is the greatest culture in the world. He targeted Iran’s minority communities with a ruthlessness that was breathtaking but not surprising, given how this regime was established.
BREAKING: Ayatollah Khamenei Likely Dead, Netanyahu Says; Israeli Officials Say He Is Dead.
In a new statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says it is highly likely that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, is no longer alive. Israeli officials are now definitively telling members of the press, on background, that Khamenei was killed in airstrikes. Axios’s Barak Ravid reports that Israel’s ambassador to the United States has confirmed to U.S. officials that Khamenei was killed.
Israel Launches “Preventative” Attack On Regime Targets In Iranian Territory
The Israeli military, joined by the US military, has launched an attack — which it frames as “preemptive” — on what it says are Islamic Republic targets in Tehran and possibly other locations within Iranian territory. As sirens blared across Israel, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared a nationwide state of emergency, limiting activities in the country to essential functions only.
BREAKING: Netflix Backs Out of Warner Bros. Deal, Clearing Path for Paramount
Netflix says it is backing out of an offer to buy Warner Bros., which means that Paramount, under David Ellison, is likely to acquire the company that owns Warner Bros., CNN, HBO, and other major media assets. Ellison, who has a close relationship with President Trump, his administration, and top Republican senators, already controls Paramount, which includes CBS, CBS News, Paramount Pictures, Paramount+, and a portfolio of cable networks.
The Stunning Arrest of the former Prince Andrew
The arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, Duke of York, on allegations of misconduct in public office linked to the Epstein matter is breathtaking. After the statement Buckingham Palace released the other day — in which the King expressed “profound concern” over the allegations tied to Jeffrey Epstein, emphasized sympathy for victims, and said the Palace would “stand ready to support” Thames Valley Police should they seek cooperation — I knew it was possible.
BREAKING: Russia Used Ecuadorian Dart Frog Poison to Assassinate Alexei Navalny
The governments of the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and the Netherlands have issued a joint statement announcing their conclusion that Russian opposition leader and freedom fighter Alexei Navalny was assassinated by Russia’s intelligence services using poison from an Ecuadorian dart frog. The announcement was made at the Munich Security Conference by the UK’s Foreign Minister Yvette Cooper. Navalny’s wife, Yulia Navalnaya, was in attendance.
BREAKING: IRGC Set to Be Designated a Terrorist Organization by the European Union
After more than a decade of resisting the move, the French government says it will support the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the European Union’s list of terrorist organizations. Spain has also reversed its position and will support the designation, clearing the way for its adoption.
BREAKING: Trump Tells NATO Allies He No Longer Needs to Think “Purely of Peace” After Nobel Snub, Demands Total Control of Greenland
This evening, PBS News reporter Nick Schifrin released a letter written by President Trump to Norway’s Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre.
BREAKING: German Chancellor Says Islamic Republic of Iran Is in Its “Last Days and Weeks,” Lacks Legitimacy
In an extraordinary statement, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that the Islamic Republic of Iran, the theocratic authoritarian regime that has ruled the country since 1979, was in its “last days and weeks” and had no legitimacy. Merz would be the first major world leader to predict such a rapid end to the regime.
BREAKING: Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell Says He’s Under Federal Investigation
In a new video, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell says grand jury subpoenas served on the Federal Reserve, supposedly tied to his Senate testimony about a renovation project, are being used to intimidate the Fed for setting interest rates based on economic evidence rather than political demands. The New York Times reports that D.C. U.S. Attorney Jeannine Pirro opened a federal investigation into Powell this past November. I can’t do this work without your support.
In Iran, the Blood Isn’t Just in the Streets
If history is any guide, this coming week promises to be a brutal one for Iranians who are fighting in the streets to end the Islamic regime. While the regime has been brutally assaulting — and even murdering —Iranians in the streets, they still have not used even 1% of the force they are capable of. I have little doubt they will ratchet up the brutality this week.
On Iran: How Some American Progressives Make the Islamic Republic’s Repression About Themselves
Over the past year, I’ve noticed that whenever I — or any other Iranian in the diaspora — post videos or images of Iranians being subjected to brutal violence by Islamic Republic of Iran regime forces, some American progressives (often white) inevitably reply with responses that compare what those Iranians are facing to what Americans and migrants have faced during the Trump administration. Replies like “just like the USA” and “almost as bad as ICE” flood my replies and direct messages.
Here’s the 60 Minutes Segment Trump and CBS News Executives Don’t Want You to See
Yashar Ali | The Reset - TRANSCEND Media Service Screenshot of an unauthorized “60 Minutes” segment about a prison in El Salvador where the Trump administration sent hundreds of migrants. The piece was blocked from airing by CBS News’ editor-in-chief Bari Weiss over objections of the reporters who put the story together.
NEW: CBS News Memo and The Epstein Files
Good afternoon, and Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate! Two matters today: CBS News employees received a memo from top CBS News executives and editors, which I have shared in full below (but please read my analysis first), and President Trump’s Department of Justice says that prosecutors in the Southern District of New York and the FBI have uncovered over one million new documents related to the Epstein matter.
BREAKING: Here’s the 60 Minutes Segment Trump and CBS News Executives Don’t Want You to See Original
(If you already know the story, the video is down at the bottom) Yesterday, CBS News pulled a story titled “Inside CECOT” just hours before it was set to air. The report examined the Trump administration’s controversial deportation of more than 250 people — most of them Venezuelan nationals — to CECOT, a sprawling prison in El Salvador where detainees were held under severe conditions.

BREAKING: 60 Minutes Correspondent Says Trump Story Was Spiked For Political Reasons
Sharyn Alfonsi, a correspondent for 60 Minutes, sent an internal email to colleagues stating that CBS News editor in chief Bari Weiss “spiked our story” about the Trump administration and the transfer of deportees to a prison in El Salvador. The story was set to air on this evening’s broadcast of 60 Minutes and had been repeatedly promoted by the network in the days leading up to today. It was expected to be highly critical of the Trump administration.

BREAKING: Dr. Jane Goodall Has Died
Jane Goodall, one of the most important and consequential figures in global conservation, has died, the Jane Goodall Institute announced. The institute says she died while on a speaking tour in California. On a personal note, few other people have had an impact on my life like Dr. Goodall. Her groundbreaking research on chimpanzees in Gombe, Tanzania, transformed our understanding of primates and redefined the relationship between humans and the natural world.
Jew Hatred and the New Demographics
As many of my social media followers know, particularly on Instagram, for years I have spent many hours every day monitoring extremist, Neo-Nazi channels, pages, and spaces, with a particular focus on tracking Jew hatred (antisemitism). Over the past two years I have tracked a stunning but not surprising shift: the ranks of Neo-Nazis and outright Jew haters were growing rapidly and becoming very diverse in a way that has not ever been seen in American history (including in the 1920s–30s).
BREAKING: White House Releases 20 Point Plan For Gaza

BREAKING: James Comey, Former FBI Director, Has Been Indicted
Former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of obstruction of justice and lying to Congress. The grand jury returned two of three counts requested by federal prosecutors. This comes just a few days after President Trump complained publicly in a post directed at Attorney General Pam Bondi that charges against his political enemies, whom Trump wishes to punish for investigating, suing and charging him, were slow-moving.
Days after Disney suspended his late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel is returning to ABC to host his show tomorrow evening, the network announced in a statement: "Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive.

Warning: The video is graphic. A spokesperson for Turning Point USA confirmed that Kirk had been shot. A suspect is in custody. This is a developing story; check back for updates. The Islamic regime in Iran has executed 105 people so far this month, with many more slated to be executed in the coming weeks, per the Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI) and the Abdorrahman Boroumand Center for Human Rights in Iran.

BREAKING: The United States Has Bombed Nuclear Sites In Iranian Territory
In a Truth Social post, President Trump just announced that the U.S. military has attacked three nuclear sites in Iranian territory. Earlier today, the United States confirmed that it was moving B-2 bombers (the only type of aircraft that can carry the bunker-busting bombs required for Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility). The president said: “We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
BREAKING: Israel Is Conducting Strikes In Iran Original

The College of Cardinals, who gathered in a secret conclave inside the Sistine Chapel, has elected the first American pope. Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who is 69 years old and was born in Chicago, has taken the name Leo XIV. Pope Leo XIV is also a naturalized Peruvian citizen.
