1 Introduction Epilepsy is a complex chronic neurological disease. Its recurrent and spontaneous seizures seriously damage the quality of life of patients and bring a heavy disease burden to society [1, 2]. Although existing antiepileptic drugs can control the symptoms of some patients, about 30% of patients still develop refractory epilepsy, and the current treatment strategies have limited effects in preventing progressive neuronal damage related to epilepsy [3-5].
