Is a free bet really gambling?
iqoniq Prominent Member #1 Apart from the Grand National (purely because it's become a family tradition), I don't bet. I abhor gambling, and I can think of better ways to waste money. As I do bet on the national I have an account with a gambling website, and they occasionally hand out free bets (usually worth a fiver or so) on various events, and I do use these because if who I support win I get some free money.
Question - Whatever became of your old School Bully ?
#1 One of the bullies who made my Secondary School life a living hell was sent down back in July for being part of a Drugs gang. So karma seems to have put him in his place. Does anyone else have anything similar with there former tormentors ? #2 Not entirely sure it is true, but I heard that a particularly nasty piece of work from my old school is serving life in prison in Asia for his involvement in drug smuggling. Apparently, he only escaped a death sentence as he is a UK citizen.
NOSTALGIA: Memories of Christmas Past
#1 To go with the general nostalgia of your childhood thread. What did you used to do at Christmas when you were a child? For myself, my brother and I would always wake our parents up ridiculously early. Our presents were in two large paper sacks with Santa Claus on them, leaned up against the two armchairs in the front room. Presents usually spilled out onto the chairs as well.
Advice on internet supplier
#1 Our BT contract is coming to an end and BT have called my wife a few times today, but she was out drinking with friends so in no position to speak (coherently) to them. We are currently on the 50mbps download (just done a test and getting 56), which they have offered to her for half price (£30pm). I said i would rather pay the same but have faster internet, to which she said was an option but couldn't recall what she said. Who is the best provider considered these days?
