Control of a MEMS Fast Steering Mirror With Improved Quasi-Static Performance
Fast steering mirror (FSM) is an optical device for quickly and accurately adjusting the direction of the reflected laser, which, as a significant component, can therefore acquire and track the optical signal to provide a stable communication link [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. FSM is mainly divided into voice coil motor FSM, piezoelectric ceramic FSM, and MEMS FSM. The eigenfrequency of the voice coil motor FSM is usually in the range of 100 Hz to 700 Hz [6].
Vale eases Asia pellet drought with Vargem Grande restart
Vale resumed operations at its pelletizing plant in Vargem Grande, Nova Lima, Brazil, on Wednesday January 20, it said on Thursday January 21. Operations at the pelletizing plant had been halted since February 2019 after the Brumadinho tailings dam disaster in January 2019. The pelletizing plant in Vargem Grande has an annual production of 7 million tonnes, but the plant is expected to produce approximately 4-5 million tonnes per year in 2021, the Brazilian mining major said.
Seaborne iron ore concentrate, pellet prices rebound in line with fines market
Seaborne iron ore concentrate and pellet prices increased in the week to Friday May 15, matching the general price trend for iron ore fines amid strong steel production in China. According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, daily production of steel products in the country reached 3.6 million tonnes in April, up by 3.6% year on year, and up by 11.8% from March this year.
Seaborne iron ore pellet prices fall further after increase in shipments
Seaborne iron ore pellet prices continued to fall in the week to Friday April 24, with increasing levels of supplies coming from India and Europe. And the lower price for pellet attracted traders wanting to take profit from the difference between seaborne and Chinese port prices. Fastmarkets’ index for iron ore 65% Fe blast furnace pellet, cfr Qingdao, fell to $108.26 per tonne cfr China on April 24, down 2.23 per tonne, or 2%, from $110.49 per tonne a week earlier.
Vale's Malaysian iron ore distribution, processing operations could be suspended until end of month, sources say
Operations at Vale’s iron ore distribution and blending center at the Teluk Rubiah Maritime Terminal in Malaysia, could be suspended until March 31, market sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday March 18. The Brazil-headquartered company had not yet responded to a request for details and there had been no response from the company's Malaysia office at the time of publication.
IRON ORE DAILY: Steely edge for the steelmaking raw material
Seaborne iron ore prices moved up on Tuesday March 17 with market participants highlighting rebar and iron ore as the star performers in China, with physical iron ore prices performing strongly during the day. Fastmarkets iron ore indices 62% Fe fines, cfr Qingdao: $91.20 per tonne, up $0.32 per tonne 62% Fe low-alumina fines, cfr Qingdao: $92.39 per tonne, up $0.25 per tone 58% Fe fines high-grade premium, cfr Qingdao: $79.79 per tonne, up $0.09 per tonne.
Interfacial restructuration of carbon nitride polymers for visible-light photocatalysis
Interfacial restructuration of carbon nitride polymers for visible-light photocatalysis Photocatalyst surface restruction is of immense practical utility for solar energy utilization. Herein, we present a strategy to bridge π-conjugated molecules into the framework of the polymeric semiconductor. It endows the catalyst with increased charge transfer and separation efficiency, resulting in an improved photoactivity.
