Abstract We demonstrate a robust method to dynamically tune magnon dissipation in yttrium iron garnet spheres by equipping a metallic band around the sphere’s equator, enabling precise control over magnon-photon coupling states. The collective magnetization dynamics in the YIG sphere induce circular eddy currents in the metallic band, whose magnitude can be systematically varied by adjusting the angle between the metallic band plane and an external static magnetic field.
The discovery of built-in and synthetic Rashba fields in Si spin channels [S. Lee et al., Nat. Mater. 20, 1228 (2021)] challenged the conventional understanding of spin transport physics in semiconducting materials and forced researchers to reconsider the procedures used for estimating spin drift velocity and spin mobility.
In the following paragraph, we show that the ISHE observed in our samples is intrinsic in nature and originates from the inter-d-band excitations. The ISHE spin–charge conversion current is given by the equation40, I = wθ λ tanh(d⁄(2λ ))(2e⁄ℏ)j 0, where w—channel width (same for all samples), θ —spin Hall angle, λ —spin diffusion length, d—channel thickness, ℏ—reduced Planck constant, j 0—injected spin current density at the YIG/Pt interface.
