A Europium-Organic Framework with Activation-Induced Open Metal Sites for Water Adsorption
A Europium-Organic Framework with Activation-Induced Open Metal Sites for Water Adsorption Understanding the role of open metal sites (OMS) in regulating guest-framework interactions is essential for the rational design of rare earth metal-organic frameworks (RE-MOFs) for sorption applications. Herein, we report a europium-based MOF, [Eu2(TCPP)1.5(DMF)2(H2O)]·DMF·H2O (Eu-H4TCPP), synthesized under solvothermal conditions.

Targeting Lactylation Offers Therapy to Reverse Cell Death Resistance
Abstract Lactylation, a lactate-derived post-translational modification, emerges as a master metabolic regulator of resistance to regulated cell death (RCD) across pathologies including cancer, inflammatory disorders, and degenerative diseases. By dynamically modifying histones and non-histone proteins via lactyltransferases and delactylases, lactylation orchestrates convergent molecular pathways that suppress ferroptosis, cuproptosis, and apoptosis.

Explainable machine learning model predicts response to adjuvant therapy after radical cystectomy in bladder cancer
1 Introduction Bladder cancer ranks among the most common malignancies globally, with approximately 573,000 new cases and 213,000 deaths reported each year (1). Radical cystectomy (RC) remains the standard treatment for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) and high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). However, postoperative recurrence and disease progression continue to be major clinical challenges.

cGAS-STING Targeting Offers Novel Therapeutic Opportunities in Liver Diseases
Abstract Cyclic GMP/AMP (cGAMP) synthase (cGAS), coupled with the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-anchored adaptor protein stimulator of interferon genes (STING), constitute key components of the type 1 interferon signaling network. cGAS detects both pathogen-derived DNA and aberrant cytosolic self-DNA, establishing the cGAS-STING pathway as a central player in autoimmune disorders, sterile inflammation, and senescence-related processes.
Malnutrition Indicate Poor Clinical Outcome in Patients With NPC: A Multicenter Cohort Study
The nutritional status of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and importance of nutrition have not been reported in large cohort study. The nutritional status of patients with NPC for treatment remains poorly understood. Nutritional status has been found with this study aimed to investigate the nutritional status and potential clinical risk factors affecting the survival of patients with NPC.
M6A-Methylated circRAPGEF5 drives lung adenocarcinoma progression and metastasis via IGF2BP2/NUP160-mediated autophagy suppression - Molecular Cancer
Ninety-three samples of LUAD and corresponding precancerous tissues were obtained from 51 male and 42 female patients at the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University between August 2019 and August 2022. The clinical data of the patients are detailed in Table S1-S3. None of the patients had undergone chemotherapy or radiotherapy before sample collection.
Permafrost thawing under overlaying salt water
Abstract Thawing of permafrost substantially affects the local environment and global energy balance. When salt water overlays permafrost, Rayleigh-Darcy (R-D) instability emerges because of the density mismatch and regulates melting (thawing) dynamics. Contrary to expectations that a higher Rayleigh number (R) would amplify instability, our experiments revealed fingering and stable melting fronts at low and high R, respectively.

KDM5B promotes SMAD4 loss-driven drug resistance through activating DLG1/YAP to induce lipid accumulation in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma - Cell Death Discovery
Abstract Inactivated suppressor of mothers against decapentaplegic homolog (SMAD) 4 significantly affects cancer development in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). However, the contribution of smad4 loss to drug resistance in PDAC is largely undetermined. In the present study, we reported that the loss of SMAD4 endows PDAC cells the ability to drug resistance through upregulating histone lysine demethylase, Lysine-Specific Demethylase 5B (KDM5B, also known as JARID1B or PLU1).

Targeting lysosomal quality control as a therapeutic strategy against aging and diseases
1 INTRODUCTION Lysosomes, first described by Dr. de Duve about 70 years ago, have been recognized as the primary degradative compartment in eukaryotic cells.1 Studies in the past have revealed their characteristics as highly acidic, dynamic, heterogeneous single membrane cellular organelles with varying sizes, locations, morphology, enzyme content, substrates, and functions.

Optimization of booster chlorination for water distribution system under dual uncertainties
ABSTRACT Chlorine is generally used as disinfectant to sustain water quality in water distribution system (WDS). To prevent the occurrence of disinfectant by-product as well as control the growth of microorganism, the residual chlorine concentration in WDS should be kept between acceptable intervals. However, the chlorine concentration was uncertain due to chlorine decay, imprecise measure, hydraulic and topological conditions.

The first actinide polyiodate: a complex multifunctional compound with promising X-ray luminescence properties and proton conductivity
The first actinide polyiodate: a complex multifunctional compound with promising X-ray luminescence properties and proton conductivity† Herein we report the first example of an actinide polyiodate compound, namely K4[(UO2)2(IO3)6(I4O11)]·(HIO3)4(H2O)6 (UPI-1), which was obtained from slow evaporation of nitric acid with a high I/U ratio.
cGAS suppresses genomic instability as a decelerator of replication forks
Abstract The cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS), a sensor of cytosolic DNA, is critical for the innate immune response. Here, we show that loss of cGAS in untransformed and cancer cells results in uncontrolled DNA replication, hyperproliferation, and genomic instability. While the majority of cGAS is cytoplasmic, a fraction of cGAS associates with chromatin. cGAS interacts with replication fork proteins in a DNA binding–dependent manner, suggesting that cGAS encounters replication forks in DNA.
Rare earth separations by selective borate crystallization
When LnCl ?xH O reacts with large excess of molten boric acid at 200?°C for 3 days, six distinct phases across the lanthanide series were observed as shown in Fig. 1, establishing a unique periodic trend no longer showing chemical uniformity, clearly demonstrating the fine recognition capability in this system.
