Yuti Joshi

My unique mix of experience in content and community management, my courses in marketing and public relations and my passion for social communication helps me find passion in the field of journalism.

My desire to learn about and make connections between a wide variety of subjects keeps me constantly searching for new ideas and opportunities to better understand the world around me. This manifests itself in my strong interest of travel. I was privileged enough to be able to study abroad in Istanbul, Turkey. While there, I took advantage of my proximity to a country shared both by the European and Asian continents. I learned the ins and outs of the travel world: from plane to train, from hotel to hostel, and from tourist trap to local treasure. Soon after graduation, my travels took me to Dusseldorf, Germany. While in Dusseldorf I worked for trivago as the content manager for the english speaking platforms.

I'm passionate about shaping what journalism will become in the digital age, through both new forms of advertising and the new mediums used to tell stories. I believe journalism and writing are tools that can affect and create social change, and I'm dedicated to being a part of that. As a graduate student at the Columbia School of Journalism, I take on the job to hone my skills at reporting. My responsibilities at all of the places I worked at included everything from supporting the strategy team to executing social media campaigns, producing radio and video news content to coding SEO texts, trafficking ad campaigns to inventory management all while working in a 24/7 news media environment.
