1 Introduction Osteoarthritis (OA) is a result of joint space narrowing as the cartilage within the joint loses depth with ageing. This can lead to symptoms of pain, aching, and stiffness. One of the most common forms of OA is knee OA (KOA). Approximately 30%–40% of individuals over the age of 65 present with radiologic signs of OA (Dixon et al. 2010). However, weak correlations between radiographic imaging and symptomatic presentation have been shown in KOA (Cubukcu, Sarsan, and Alkan 2012).
