Enhancing Sn-Pb perovskite homogeneity via thioether coordination for efficient and stable all-perovskite tandem solar cells
Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION MATERIALS AND METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share Abstract All-perovskite tandem solar cells (TSCs) hold a substantial promise for achieving ultrahigh-efficiency photovoltaics beyond the Shockley-Queisser limit. However, their development has been hampered by challenges associated with a narrow-bandgap tin-lead (Sn-Pb) perovskite subcell.
Robust self-assembled monolayer enables ultraviolet stable perovskite photovoltaics
Abstract Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) have boosted perovskite solar cell (PSCs) efficiencies, but their ultrathin nature causes structural vulnerability under outdoor solar illumination, particularly in the ultraviolet (UV) regime, limiting long-term operation and practical deployment of PSCs. Extensive experiments with ab initio molecular dynamics reveal conventional SAMs undergo rapid structural degradation under UV irradiation, leading to molecular desorption and film collapse.
Bio-inspired antioxidant stabilization for efficient tin-lead and all-perovskite tandem solar cells
Abstract The development of high-performance narrow-bandgap tin-lead (Sn-Pb) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is fundamental to surpassing the Shockley-Queisser limit via all-perovskite tandem configurations. Nevertheless, the vulnerability of Sn2+ to oxidation in Sn-Pb perovskite films and devices remains a formidable obstacle to achieving superior film quality and competitive power conversion efficiency (PCE).
Cation interdiffusion control for 2D/3D heterostructure formation and stabilization in inorganic perovskite solar modules - Nature Energy
Abstract Inorganic perovskite solar cells could benefit from surface passivation using 2D/3D perovskite heterostructures. However, conventional spacer cations fail to exchange with the tightly bonded Cs cation in the inorganic perovskite to form 2D layers atop; or, when they do enable formation of a 2D layer, they migrate under heat, degrading device performance. Here we investigate the mechanisms behind 2D/3D heterostructure formation and stabilization.
Diamine chelates for increased stability in mixed Sn–Pb and all-perovskite tandem solar cells - Nature Energy
|
Abstract Perovskite tandem solar cells show promising performance, but non-radiative recombination and its progressive worsening with time, especially in the mixed Sn–Pb low-bandgap layer, limit performance and stability. Here we find that mixed Sn–Pb perovskite thin films exhibit a compositional gradient, with an excess of Sn on the surface—and we show this gradient exacerbates oxidation and increases the recombination rate.

Two-dimensional Perovskitoids Enhance Stability in Perovskite Solar Cells - Nature
Abstract Two-dimensional (2D)/three-dimensional (3D) perovskite heterostructures have played a key role in advancing the performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs)1,2. However, the migration of cations between 2D and 3D layers results in the disruption of octahedral networks that leads to degradation in performance over time3,4. We hypothesized that perovskitoids, with robust organic-inorganic networks enabled by edge- and face-sharing, could impede ion migration.

Halide homogenization for low energy loss in 2-eV-bandgap perovskites and increased efficiency in all-perovskite triple-junction solar cells - Nature Energy
Abstract Monolithic all-perovskite triple-junction solar cells have the potential to deliver power conversion efficiencies beyond those of state-of-art double-junction tandems and well beyond the detailed-balance limit for single junctions. Today, however, their performance is limited by large deficits in open-circuit voltage and unfulfilled potential in both short-circuit current density and fill factor in the wide-bandgap perovskite sub cell.
Publisher Correction: Regulating surface potential maximizes voltage in all-perovskite tandems - Nature
Correction to: Nature https://doi.org/10.1038/s41586-022-05541-z Published online 15 November 2022 In the unedited, preview version of this article initially published, the Methods subsection “Single junction wide bandgap perovskite solar cells” was present under the “Solar cell fabrication” section; the paragraph was subsequently missing in the original typeset version. The error has been corrected in the HTML and PDF versions of the article.
Alpine grassland degradation intensifies the burrowing behavior of small mammals: evidence for a negative feedback loop
INTRODUCTION Grasslands, one of the most important ecosystems in the world, cover about 40% of the Earth's terrestrial surface (Bardgett et al. 2021). They are a dominant ecosystem that has significant economic value (Henkin et al. 2007). However, about 49% of grasslands globally have suffered degradation to various extents (Gang et al. 2014), resulting in an ecological problem challenging the ecosystem health and the livelihood of local people (Sneath 1998; Cease et al. 2012).
