How is social media changing news?
The instantaneous aspect is certainly making it harder to escape and bare-bones articles with little to no substance seem to dominate.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Tim Messenger of the Sandford Citizen (from Hot Fuzz, meets a sticky end...)
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Inform, zoom in and out, critique and commend.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Pages, Wix, Google Drive
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter or Instagram. Though I'm pretty new to both!

Geoff Lemon of the Final Word Podcast. Robert MacFarlane when it comes to writers.
Why did you become a journalist?
I think there is a fantastic blend of rigour and creativity. And I enjoy it!
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
University newspaper - I was the Music Editor
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
One personal piece on visiting Nick Drake's grave in Warwickshire while at uni, though I daren't look at it now.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Little - I'm the one who needs advice. But trying to sit down every day and write is important and that means finding the right environment.
What's your favorite drink?
A pint of Talbot Ale at, my local, the Talbot Inn in Mells, Somerset.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
At the pub.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The Guardian website, BBC features and then The Cricketer and BBC Music Magazine were the subscriptions I used to have. Nat Geo occasionally!
