What was your first job as a journalist?

I used to review gigs ad hoc for the Southern Daily Echo in return for free tickets.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes! I have one in my flat.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I use Google Analytics on a daily basis, as well as various social media networks and Photoshop.

Why did you become a journalist?

I wanted to work with words and considered becoming an English teacher, but I'm scared of children. I love story-telling and I love learning.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes - I was editor of the School Shout!

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Write, write, write and don't be shy about promoting your work.
