Economical preparation of vanadium electrolytes via ascorbic acid-driven reduction of vanadium pentoxide
Introduction In response to climate change, the depletion of fossil fuel resources, and escalating environmental pollution, countries around the world are striving to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 [1,2]. As dependence on fossil energy decreases, renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, are gaining attention. [3,4] However, these sources are inherently intermittent and unpredictable, limiting their widespread adoption [[5], [6], [7]].

A044 COVID-19 IN CVID: A LARGE HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE
Despite common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) being a relatively common primary immunodeficiency that predisposes patients to respiratory disease, little is known about the outcomes of patients with CVID who are infected with SARS-CoV-2 and how CVID patients respond to SARS-CoV-2 vaccinations.
Radiotherapy for Post-Chemotherapy Residual Mass in Advanced Seminoma: A Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography-Based Risk-adapted Approach
Highlights • FDG PET-CT can help to optimise the management of post-chemotherapy residual mass in advanced seminoma. • Risk grouping can be carried out based on uptake in residual mass in PET-CT scan. • Residual mass with SUVmax ≥3 seems to benefit from locoregional radiotherapy. Abstract Aims There is a lack of consensus regarding the management of post-chemotherapy residual mass in classical seminoma.

M251 NOVEL TREATMENT PARADIGMS IN GRANULOMATOUS-LYMPHOCYTIC INTERSTITIAL LUNG DISEASE ASSOCIATED WITH COMMON VARIABLE IMMUNE DEFICIENCY
Granulomatous-lymphocytic interstitial lung disease (GL-ILD) is type of interstitial lung disease that impacts approximately 10% of patients with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) and significantly increases mortality. There are currently no established guidelines for treatment of GL-ILD. Previous case reports demonstrate efficacy with different immunosuppressive regimens.
M404 PERSISTENT POSITIVITY OF SARS-COV-2 NASOPHARYNGEAL PCR TEST IN A CHILD WITH ASTHMA
Introduction There is debate regarding a child’s ability to transmit SARS-CoV-2 to others. There is no evidence-based guideline regarding the management of children with persistently positive SARS-CoV-2 PCR testing following recovery from clinical illness. Case Description A 9-year-old Hispanic male with mild persistent asthma on low dose fluticasone and montelukast developed cough and headache. Two days later a nasopharyngeal PCR test was positive for SARS-CoV-2. He recovered uneventfully at home.
HEART FAILURE SELF-CARE IN VULNERABLE OLDER ADULTS: A CROSS-SECTIONAL ANALYSIS OF THE FRAILTY-HF STUDY
Adherence to self-care behaviors for heart failure (HF) has been shown to promote hospitalization-free survival and quality of life. Despite efforts to educate and reinforce these behaviors, adherence is sub-optimal in the older HF population. A better understanding of the reasons for this is needed to develop effective strategies for self-care in vulnerable older patients. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the impact of frailty and functional impairments on HF self-care.
A “Global Safety Net” to reverse biodiversity loss and stabilize Earth’s climate
Abstract Global strategies to halt the dual crises of biodiversity loss and climate change are often formulated separately, even though they are interdependent and risk failure if pursued in isolation. The Global Safety Net maps how expanded nature conservation addresses both overarching threats. We identify 50% of the terrestrial realm that, if conserved, would reverse further biodiversity loss, prevent CO2 emissions from land conversion, and enhance natural carbon removal.
A “Global Safety Net” to reverse biodiversity loss and stabilize Earth’s climate
Title: Re-thinking the Global Safety Net: Local leadership in Global Conservation Dinerstein et al.’s recent article “A Global Safety Net”’ presents a spatial argument to conserve 50% of Earth’s terrestrial area to reverse biodiversity loss and stabilise the climate (Dinerstein et al., 2020). Their contribution is showing where nature conservation can help tackle the climate and biodiversity crises simultaneously.
Incidence and Outcome of Second Malignancy in Primary Treated Head and Neck Cancer
Madam — Second malignancies have become one of the salient late side-effects of cancer treatment and also carry a poor prognosis and lead to premature mortality [ 1 Ng A.K. Kenney L.B. Gilbert E.S. To view the full text, please login as a subscribed user or purchase a subscription. Click here to view the full text on ScienceDirect. Granulomatous-lymphocytic interstitial lung disease (GLILD) is a restrictive lung disease, defined as pulmonary tissue containing both granulomatous and lymphoproliferative histopathologic patterns. GLILD is characteristically associated with common variable immune deficiency (CVID), and patients have poorer outcomes.

The effect of blending two low molecular weight diluents (LMWD), dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and dimethyl isophthalate (DMI), on the microstructure, free volume, and the barrier properties of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) was investigated. Incorporation of the additives at loadings up to 3 wt % led to a substantial improvement in the barrier properties of PET to oxygen, carbon dioxide, and helium.

A comparison of observed and predicted ground motions from the 2015 M
We use 21 strong motion recordings from Nepal and India for the 25 April 2015 moment magnitude (M ) 7.8 Gorkha, Nepal, earthquake together with the extensive macroseismic intensity data set presented by Martin et al. (Seism Res Lett 87:957–962, 2015) to analyse the distribution of ground motions at near-field and regional distances. We show that the data are consistent with the instrumental peak ground acceleration (PGA) versus macroseismic intensity relationship developed by Worden et al.
