Lift College launches £1,000 Second Chance Bursary for adults returning to study
Lift College has launched the Second Chance Bursary: £1,000 for one UK adult who left school without a grade 4 in English or maths and is now studying again. It is open to learners at any UK college, sixth form, university or regulated online college, on any course at any level, not just Lift College learners. Round 1 closes on 31 January 2027. Lift College, the UK online college at liftcollege.co.uk, has opened applications for its Second Chance Bursary.

SINGAPORE, 20 September 2026 - The Academic Workshop, a Singapore tuition centre that has specialised exclusively in English and General Paper since 2012, has opened enrolment for its 2027 A-Level cohort and is using the moment to make a point about how junior college families rank the subject. Of the 10,977 students who sat the 2025 Singapore-Cambridge A-Level examinations, 94.7 per cent attained three or more H2 passes with a pass in General Paper (Ministry of Education, February 2026).
