Introduction and aims of the study: The term cephalocele refers to the herniation of intracranial structures through a fetal skull defect. The reported incidence of cephaloceles is 0.8-4 per 10000 live births, while atretic cephaloceles account for 4-17% of the total. Our objective is to present the prenatal diagnosis of an atretic parietal cephalocele, highlight the diagnostic pitfalls and discuss post diagnosis dilemmas.
