Watch A Russian Naval Parade Go Horribly Wrong Before Putin's Eyes
Russia celebrated its Navy Day on Sunday with a naval parade on the Neva River in St. Petersburg, a day of pomp and military power which Russian President Vladimir Putin himself attended. The parade, which involved 40 warships, 38 aircraft, and about 4,000 troops, was majestically unfolding when a Serna-class landing craft collided with a bridge. Oops.
The White House Is Making Major Military Decisions Without Telling The DoD
I emailed the Pentagon last week, asking them for details of an “international security” agreement Russia was touting after the Trump-Putin summit in Helsinki, Finland, and a spokesman said they didn’t have any information on that. It’s become a familiar game: The White House announces some change in military policy or a major national security decision, and reporters ask the Pentagon what the hell they are talking about.
This Army Base In Kuwait Is Waging War On Soldiers' Insides
The Army is racing to identify the source of a salmonella outbreak that has left five soldiers sickened at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, Army Times reports, another reminder that much of the Global War on Terror is duked out in downrange service members’ guts. At least it isn’t Camp Buehring!
Does President Trump Still Listen To Mattis? Reports Say No.
All right, gumshoes, let’s play everyone’s favorite game: Where in the world is Defense Secretary James Mattis? If you’re wondering what Mattis is up to these days, join the club. The Pentagon has gone dark over the summer, providing little – if any – information about what the secretary is doing from day to day. Smelling blood in the water, news media have recently reported that Mattis is on the outs with the president, who no longer relies on the secretary’s counsel.
A Medal of Honor Recipient Describes How He Was Saved By A Tiger And A Sawed-Off Shotgun
Editor’s Note: This article by Richard Sisk originally appeared on Military.com, the premier source of information for the military and veteran community. “The tiger kinda’ helped” in scaring off the enemy in March 1966, Special Forces legend and retired Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie Adkins said of the last hours of a four-day battle in Vietnam in which he earned the Medal of Honor.
PTSD: It’s Not Just for Veterans Anymore
In the last few years, I’ve begun to realize that as a veteran, that I have trauma and how I have responded to that trauma is not unique amongst the general population—we live in a traumatic world–even if how I accumulated some of those traumas might be.
Get You A Man Who Looks At You The Way Gronk Looks At This Minigun
“Rob Gronkowski.” Go ahead. Say it to your girlfriend. Even I, a congenital Patriots-hater, must grudgingly admit that Gronk, the hard-headed, able-bodied tight end, is a tough sumbitch on the field — and a favorite with the ladies. But wait. There’s more. Say hello to Gronk’s little friend: Why yes, that is Bill Belichick’s prime non-Ugg-wearing investment, wielding — dare we say loving?
