Water cooperation is under threat: Water has always been a connector – but a look at the future makes us worry
By , & Rivers, lakes, and aquifers ignore borders and politics, binding countries, people, and ecosystems together. This shared reality has long required cooperation, even among states divided by tensions or conflict. Through technical dialogue, data sharing, and joint institutions, countries have often quietly managed floods, negotiated infrastructure, and protected water quality.

Algorithmic Fairness and Educational Justice
Much has been written about how to improve the fairness of AI tools for decision-making but less has been said about how to approach this new field from the perspective of philosophy of education. My goal in this paper is to bring together criteria from the general algorithmic fairness literature with prominent values of justice defended by philosophers of education. Some kinds of fairness criteria appear better suited than others for realizing these values.

Harnessing the Benefits of Water Cooperation in an Increasingly Complex World
By , & In an era of apparent decline in international cooperation and rising crises, freshwater offers an area in which joint approaches remain absolutely essential—especially since water often transcends the boundaries of nation-states. Cooperation has long been the preferred approach in dealing with water resources shared with neighboring countries.

2024 BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Predictions
Sports 1: It’s no secret that after declining a lucrative offer to lead the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers this past offseason, UConn coach Dan Hurley is hungry for a third consecutive national championship. But the Huskies have been rocked by roster turnover. They sent four of last year’s starting five to the NBA; only forward Alex Karaban remains. That being said, UConn lost three starters from the year prior and still won a championship.

Review of Myopia Management
sponsored content October 15, 2024 By Trinae Rosato, OD Scheduling family members of your established patients only strengthens the relationships you have and adds value to what eye care and myopia management can bring to children as they grow. If you ask an optometrist the question, “Do you see kids in your practice?” they might answer, “I don’t see kids” or “Not really.” Chances are that might not be true. Oftentimes, we hear the word “kids” and think of 3- to 5-year-olds.

async / await

JavaScript Promises && Fetch
Restaurants A promise in JavaScript is just a pending task. It’s like ordering food at a restaurant: when you place your order, the server makes a promise to bring the food you ordered. Once the food is brought to the table the promise has been fulfilled. If the food you ordered can’t be served because the kitchen is out of a key ingredient, then you can catch a meal somewhere else. This is all asynchronous.

The football student section is bad. How can we fix it?
I didn’t come to Georgetown for the football team. But, as an Ohioan, football is in my blood. I bleed scarlet and gray. From the brutal rivalry between Ohio State (OSU) and Michigan, to our two NFL teams, every Ohioan lives and breathes football—even if they don’t want to. I miss those Saturday mornings in October, watching a game against some unknown school on the 65-inch TV my Mom got just for football. See, the thing that makes Ohio State football so exciting is the atmosphere.

Let Him Bake: Mitchell Baker’s third goal in three games brings Georgetown men’s soccer 1-0 home opener victory
Freshman forward Mitchell Baker picked the perfect time to score his first goal at Shaw Field. On a rainy day on the Hilltop, No. 16 Georgetown men’s soccer (2-1, BIG EAST) could not find a breakthrough goal for most of the game against No. 18 UNC Greensboro Spartans (2-1, Southern). As time ticked down though, Baker broke through the Spartan defense with just five minutes left to secure a 1-0 victory in Georgetown’s home opener.
What happened to Georgetown football?
Georgetown football is an anomaly among sports on the Hilltop. The Hoyas have never won a conference championship in the near quarter-century it has been a member of its conference, the Patriot League. Nor has Georgetown ever made the 24-team Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) postseason tournament. Many people don’t even know that Georgetown has a football team. Nowadays, the team never sees much success or fan engagement, despite usually winning a handful of games each season.
Master Elevation-driven Contact Lens Fitting

In this second part and conclusion to the discussion, corneoscleral elevation focus shifts will be covered and how to incorporate this data into useful daily practice will be reviewed.
Corneal Topography: Get to New Heights
There’s been increasing evidence in recent years that manufacturers of anterior segment imaging technologies, the contact lens industry and practitioners globally are changing from a mindset based on corneal curvature to one with its foundations in sagittal height elevation data. Is this just a new trend in the ever-evolving landscape of cornea and contact lens practice or a sign of the times that curvature data is becoming obsolete?
