How is social media changing news?
Social media has completely transformed how news is shared, consumed, and even created. On the one hand, it's made information more accessible and real-time — anyone can break a story now, even before traditional outlets. But on the flip side, it’s also blurred the lines between facts and opinions, and misinformation can spread just as fast, if not faster. That’s why the role of credible journalism is more important than ever — to provide context, verify facts, and help people make sense of the noise. Social media isn’t replacing journalism; it’s just changing how we do it.

Why did you become a journalist?
Ever since I was young, I've never been content with only being aware of what is happening worldwide — I need to understand the how and why as well. Journalism was a good fit for me because it lets me pose relevant questions, talk to people from all walks of society, and write about stories that must be heard. I believe words can move the world, make us understand each other a little better, and keep power accountable — being a journalist enables me to be a part of it all. I'm a journalist ultimately because I care about people, about truth, and about not letting the stories that must be heard fall on deaf ears.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Once, Twitter went down unexpectedly, and I was one of the first to report on it. The story picked up fast, got a 100s of traction, and reminded me how quickly digital news moves
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Stay curious, stay humble, and never stop asking questions. Learn to really listen not just for quotes, but for understanding.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I’m pretty flexible, but weekdays during the morning or early afternoon tend to work best — that’s when I’m most in “story mode” and my inbox isn’t overflowing (yet!). That said, if it’s a genuinely interesting or timely pitch, I’ll always find time to read it, no matter when it lands.
What's your favorite drink?
Sugarcane Juice with lemon and black salt.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Honestly, probably somewhere soaking up fresh air maybe walking around the neighborhood, grabbing a quiet coffee, or just lost in somewhere peaceful. I love stepping away from screens to reset and get inspired by the world around me. It helps me come back to the work with a clearer head and fresh perspective.
