ABSTRACT One of the most enduring flow assurance issues in oil production is asphaltene deposition, particularly during periods of static oil conditions, like long-term oil well shut-ins. This work developed a green, multifunctional NC capable of inhibiting asphaltene aggregation across diverse oil systems, with emphasis on long-term asphaltene stabilization during oil wells’ shut-in periods.

1 INTRODUCTION Surfactants are important and useful materials in the oil and related industries. In the upstream of the petroleum industry, surfactants are used in EOR, drilling, well stimulation, hydraulic fracturing, and well completion operations.[1] In EOR, surfactants are effective in specific concentrations in a single-component solution or with other additives in water for injection into reservoirs.
