What was your first job as a journalist?

Reporter at the Pitch KC.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Gail Weathers. She missed her calling to be a meteorologist, but she is fascinating to watch. She's a great example of what not to do, too.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Give me all the essential details and why this is important to the publication I work at. In general, why is this newsworthy?

What's your favorite social network?

I think TikTok is excellent. For all its faults, I think there is a lot of good content on there.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I did. I was an editor and focused on our extracurricular groups—debate, community service groups, etc.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I'm proud of my Andover, Kansas, tornado coverage in 2022. I aided in letting people know where they can donate to those affected.
