1 INTRODUCTION With a median age of menopause onset between 45 and 55 years (Faubion et al., 2015) and the average life expectancy increasing, there is an ever-increasing amount of time women will spend in a post-menopausal state. Consequently, this could have a significant impact on an individual's physical and mental health. Hormonal fluctuations associated with menopause transition, age, and environmental factors are associated with increased risk of obesity and increased adiposity.
