As a mysterious bird illness continues to kill wild birds, poultry farmers are being warned to take stringent biosecurity measures. Officials are concerned the disease could spread from wild birds to chickens if measures aren't taken. "Prevention is the best strategy at this point. Maintain good biosecurity practices to reduce the risk to your flocks,” said Dr. Dennis Summers, interim State Veterinarian for Ohio in a statement from Ohio Department of Agriculture.

Columbus man faces charges in connection to body found at Alum Creek

Nearly a week after a man's body was found by a kayaker at Alum Creek Reservoir, Delaware County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a Columbus man on charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Timothy P. Burney Baldrick, 43, of Columbus, was taken into custody at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. His arraignment is expected this week. Investigators said more charges will follow.
