Abstract This study outlines the eco-friendly synthesis of magnesium oxide nanoparticles (MgO NPs) using Solanum nigrum L. leaf extract as a reducing agent. Characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy (λmax at 293 nm, direct/indirect bandgaps of 2.5 and 2.79 eV), XRD (confirming face-centered cubic structure, crystallite size 25.97 ± 1.55 nm), and SEM (showing uniform cubic morphology, average size 38.39 nm), the NPs displayed significant biological activities.
