Australian Signals Directorate director-general Abigail Bradshaw has endorsed the rapid adoption of AI within the public service, saying leaders need to “be brave”. Speaking on a panel at The Mandarin’s Future Ready Public Service conference in Canberra, Bradshaw said that fear of repeating the mistakes of the robodebt scandal should not inhibit the government’s appetite for AI. “It’s unstoppable, it’s inevitable,” said Bradshaw of AI.
