1 Introduction Oleidesulfovibrio alaskensis G20 (OA G20), a biofilm-forming anaerobic sulphate-reducing bacterium (SRB), is well known to play a key role in the biogeochemical cycling of carbon and sulphur (Price et al. 2014). SRB have garnered significant attention in industrial settings due to their dual role, contributing to biotechnological applications while also causing infrastructure deterioration (Novair et al. 2024).

2.4. Interaction between AHL Synthase and ACP Bound Fatty Acyl Chain AHL synthase catalyzes the transfer of fatty acyl group attached to ACP to S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM) [54]. In this reaction, AHL synthases utilizes SAM as amino donor and acylated ACP as the acyl chain donor [55]. AHL synthases then undergoes acylation and lactonization to generate specific AHL molecules of varying carbon chain length. The internal lactonization of SAM involves specific conformational changes in AHL synthase.
