The Public Utility Commission of Texas voted in favor of a route for proposed transmission lines running from Round Rock to Cedar Park and Leander during a meeting Thursday morning. The two sitting commissioners on the PUCT were evaluating routes for a 138-kilovolt line that the Lower Colorado River Authority is looking to build. The transmission lines would connect two existing power substations—one in Round Rock and one in Leander—to two proposed substations—one in Cedar Park and one in Leander.

Healthy Williamson County, the county’s health and wellness coalition, released its top five health priorities for the county in April. The health priorities came alongside the coalition’s 2019 Community Health Assessment, which examined Williamson County’s health status and issues.

Direct primary care—a model in which patients pay a membership fee for their primary care physician and typically do not use health insurance—is trending upward in popularity, according to experts. Dr. Melissa Miller, the owner and physician of Premier Health MD in Cedar Park, said patients at her membership-based practice benefit from the direct primary care model.
