SYDNEY, Jan 9 (Reuters) – Shares in Essential Metals (ESS.AX) rose around 40% on Monday after a Chinese-led joint venture Tianqi Lithium (002466.SZ) made a bid for 136 million dollars on the Australian lithium developer, creating a major test of Australian regulators’ appetite for Chinese-led foreign investment.
