Ohio State will add another five-star player to its 2026-27 roster. L.J. Smith was a verbal commitment in the 2027 recruiting class but is reclassifying and signing with the Buckeyes a year early. A 6-foot-4, 180-pound guard, Smith committed to Ohio State in November as he was getting his junior season underway at Mouth of Wilson (Virginia) Oak Hill Academy. His decision came within a few weeks of five-star 2026 forward Anthony Thompson also committing to the Buckeyes. Now the two will be teammates.
