Exploring the use of portable infrared spectroscopy as a quality assurance tool for the Australian Native/Traditional food industry: a case study on finger lime (Citrus australasica)
Introduction Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is a non-destructive analytical technique that can be used to capture the chemical fingerprint of food products (Cortés et al., 2019). Coupling this technology with chemometric methods offers an efficient, cost-effective alternative to destructive analysis, enabling rapid detection, avoidance of sample disposal, and the simultaneous prediction of multiple quality parameters (Cozzolino & Dayananda, 2024).
