Review: Catwoman #66
128 “Nine Lives” – Part Eight Writer: Tini Howard Artists: Ivan Shavrin, Carmine Di Giandomenico Color Artist: Veronica Gandini Letterer: Tom Napolitano Review by Adam Ray We’ve seen Catwoman pull many heists over the decades, but I can say that this time, with her presenting herself as the treasure in Catwoman #66, this is a welcome new take on her ongoing story. The creative team’s at its strongest, and able to stay consistent with the story between sudden but subtle art style changes.
Review: Red Hood: The Hill #5
99 “Grand Opening” Writer: Shawn Martinbrough Artists: Shawn Martinbrough and Tony Akins Color Artist: Matt Herms Letterer: Troy Peteri Review by Adam Ray Red Hood: The Hill #5 brings us right back to the edge of tension set up in the last issue, as we now finally see the extent of our antagonist’s reach. There’s no telling what level of destruction there is to come, and our heroes are one step behind.
Review: The Boy Wonder #2
167 “The Boy Wonder” – Book Two Writer and Artist: Juni Ba Color Artist: Chris O’Halloran Letterer: Aditya Bidikar The Boy Wonder #2 has all the strengths of part one and gives us even more. We get a real look into how Damian interacts with another member of the Bat Family, all set to the most charming and approachable artwork I’ve seen in a recent issue.
Review: DC Pride 2024
156 “DC Pride 2024” Writers: Al Ewing, Ngozi Ukazu, Gretchen Felker-Martin, Jamila Rowser, Jarrett Williams, Nicole Maines, Calvin Kasulke, Melissa Marr, Phil Jimenez Artists: Stephen Byrne, Claire Roe Oneilljones, D.J. Review: Catwoman #65
119 “Nine Lives” – Part Seven Writer: Tini Howard Artist: Ivan ShavrinLetterer: Lucas Gattoni Catwoman #65 is a release that gives readers a wonderfully strong mix of the fantastical, with a changing heist narrative that’s very welcome in the stories featuring DC’s greatest thief.
In-Depth Look at MultiVersus “Rifts”
69 Every gamer in the Dark Knight News team has been eagerly gearing up for the re-release of MultiVersus. This wild Warner Bros. Battler is set to be heating up for its return on May 28, and will introduce the MultiVersus “Rifts”. We’ve covered The Joker coming to Multiversus at length already, but these Rifts give us a whole new way to play. In this game mode, players will get the chance to practice with their favorite characters against the in-game engine itself.
Review: Red Hood: The Hill #4
85 “Escalation” Writer: Shawn Martinbrough Artist: Sanford Greene Color Artist: Matt Herms Letterer: Troy Peteri Review by Adam Ray Red Hood: The Hill #4 brings the aftermath of last month’s dramatic cliffhanger and its consequences. Batman’s offered his unlikely, but welcome, assistance as the increasing threats mount against our heroes. Shawn Martinborough has done a wonderful job of building tension and intrigue in these few short issues.
The Joker Is Coming to Multiversus
190 We’ve covered some exciting Batman-related Video Game news on Dark Knight News over the years, and even stories about Warner Bros’ frenetic battler, Multiversus.
Review: The Boy Wonder #1
133 “The Boy Wonder” – Book One Writer and Artist: Juni Ba Color Artist: Chris O’Halloran Letterer: Aditya Bidikar I’d gladly hand The Boy Wonder #1 to anyone aged 10 and up. To me, this issue is as strong an origin story for Damian Wayne as Frank Miller’s Year One is for Batman. DC’s Black Label is where the most ambitious and grim of stories can be told, because not just anything can make it into your monthly titles.
Review: Red Hood: The Hill #3
64 “The Turn” Writer: Shawn Martinbrough Artist: Tony Akins Color Artist: Matt Herms Letterer: Troy Peteri Review by Adam Ray Red Hood: The Hill #3 is the kind of comic I really love. It shows characters interacting in a light-hearted, realistic way, then puts them all into immediate and deadly peril.
Review: Catwoman #63
44 “Nine Lives” – Part Five Writer: Tini Howard Artist: Carmine Di Giandomenico Color Artist: Veronica Gandini Letterer: Lucas Gattoni Catwoman #63 brings us back to the individual, vignette style heist stories. Her antics have taken her all over the world, and each issue has been remarkably different in terms of it’s action, visuals, and the tone. This creative team has been at their best trying to create a unique comic book experience.

Top 5 Australian employment, industrial relations and safety issues for 2024
Judging by the pace of change that we’ve experienced this year – in particular the government’s Secure Jobs, Better Pay reforms and now the first tranche of the Closing the Loopholes reforms - the momentum for change is heading into 2024 apace. Not all employers will be impacted equally (or directly) by the issues we’ve identified, but we have no doubt that every Australian business will be affected. 1.
Review: The Witcher 'The Lesser Evil'
The Witcher: The Lesser Evil Andrzej Sapkowsk Writers: Jacek Rembiś, Borys Pugacz-Muraszkiewicz Artist: Adam Gorham Color Artist: Patricio Delpeche Letterer: Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou Review by Adam Ray The world of The Witcher is a rich and detailed world of mythic fantasy. The tales based in this world feel like classic fairy tales, but with a more sincere and dark spin.
Event Spotlight - Batman Unmasked
41 Batman Unmasked is the UK’s first event of its kind, an unprecedented collection of Batman memorabilia from the character’s long and storied history. Iconic items from across the comics and films were all on display like a museum of the Bat. This is the perfect way to celebrate Batman Day and the 15th Anniversary of the release of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. Furthermore, there’s plenty for Bat-fans of all ages to interact with.
Color for Initiative! Book Review: The Dungeons and Dragons Coloring Book
Review by Adam Ray The phenomenon of the adult coloring book has been longstanding since maybe the mid-2010s. During my time, I've seen variations themed on awesome popular culture, and others featuring pretty fractal patterns, to relax and meditate. There has been an epic tier piece of loot that's finally fallen out of a treasure chest, that adventurers everywhere can be excited about.
'Not so windy' Wellington? Capital enjoys unusually calm autumn
Wellington’s autumn has been so calm and free of strong winds that even airline pilots say it’s been enjoyable flying into the capital in recent months. Metservice says June’s mean speed of around 17 kilometres an hour is the lowest for a month in 11 years. It follows months of relatively calm weather, with Wellington almost failing to live up to its reputation as the windy city.

Who is Adam Ray - Storytellers Forge
Since I'm the newcomer here at Storyteller's Forge, and I was summoned by the founder Rick Heinz, I'm not a random from the street. I was once, but no longer. I'm a long-standing TTRPG gamer from London England. I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons since school. A time so far in the fog of history that I can scarcely remember what life was like before the game. A very tall friend of mine from the north of England approached me one day.

Book Review: Sideshow: Capturing Archetypes Vol. 4 *Gift Idea* Sideshow: Capturing Archetypes Vol. 4 Review by Adam Ray Art books are a staple for those who truly love a niche hobby and want to look at its media very closely, or for those who like books big and heavy enough to commit bodily harm or build a house. My own collection features the artwork from a beloved card game, but now I've expanded my collection to include this gem.

Book Review: Gotham City Cocktails
“Gotham City Cocktails” Writer: André Darlington Photographs: Ted Thomas Review by Adam Ray Whether by a good or bad reputation, Gotham City’s known for its nightlife. The costumed, armed, and bizarre tear up the streets most evenings, but there’s far more to Gotham than that! On occasions when you need to paint the town red, why not do it with a bit more refinement? Insight Editions have put together a truly thematic little publication that wouldn’t look amiss on anyone’s home bar.
