Inventory deficits, record LNG exports and flat production are not the only factors driving bullish summer upside risk for U.S. natural gas prices. Summer is the peak demand season in Mexico, which consumes more U.S. gas than any other country as its fleet of power plants reliant on the fuel continues to grow. U.S. pipeline exports to Mexico “are set to reach new heights this summer,” Wood Mackenzie’s Ricardo Falcón, research manager for North America Natural Gas and LNG, told NGI.
