What was your first job as a journalist?
I wrote gig reports for a local magazine and occasionally wrote music reviews.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Too young for a typewriter.
How is social media changing news?
I found it hard to believe that news outlets sourced 'newsworthy stories' from social media driven by virality. That's not what I am gonna do
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Mikael Blomkvist played by Daniel Craig.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
I always told myself that being a journalist is not really a career. It's a lifetime learning process. It's a dedication.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Send me some short paragraphs (four maximum) detailing your ideas, not topics.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Google docs, Google Sheet, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Premiere Pro.

Why did you become a journalist?
I read Tintin a lot back in 3rd grade. I always wanted to be a journalist since then.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
i did a video documentary and a longform piece about survivor of Abu Sayyaf kidnapping in South Sulawesi for VICE.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Learn, persevere, adapt, overcome.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Between 6-9am.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
"Why people should care about this food."
What's your favorite drink?
Jameson, double shot iced shaken espresso.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I must've gone somewhere on my gravel bike.

I enjoyed reading the New Yorker, Mother Jones, Politico, Pro Publica, among others.

"Oh, so you cover environment? What's it all about? An effort to clean your neighborhood?”
