Seacon adds $66m bulker pair at Tsuneishi Zhoushan

Hong Kong-listed Seacon Shipping has returned to Tsuneishi Group’s Chinese shipyard for two bulk carrier newbuildings worth $66m. The Qingdao-based owner will pay $33m per ship, with one vessel scheduled for completion in 2028 and the second in 2030. The filing lists the pair at around 26,700 gt each – equivalent to the yard’s 42,200 dwt handysize Tess42.

BW LPG flips former Avance Gas VLGC for $17m gain

Jackie Pritchard / Marine Traffic BW LPG has agreed to sell one of the ships acquired in the $1.05bn takeover of the Avance Gas VLGC fleet, booking a gain less than two years after the transaction. The sale of the 2015-built, 83,000 cu m BW Levant is expected to generate a net book gain of around $17m and net cash proceeds of about $38m. The buyer has not been disclosed. BW LPG took delivery of the vessel in November 2024, when the ship became the fifth of 12 VLGCs transferred from Avance Gas.
